STEPHEN HUNT, P.E.
Chief Executive Officer
Steve began his career in the Wireless Industry in 1997, as a Senior Field Engineer for Sprint PCS. During this time, he was responsible for over 150 tower sites and 3 switch facilities. Additionally, he supervised several field crews, ensuring their quality of work exceeded expectations and that company procedures and guidelines were adhered to accordingly. He developed testing procedures for designing and measuring grounding counterpoises, as well as sweep testing for transmission lines. Steve was instrumental in developing a database for the purpose of archiving field data to be used as a tool for monitoring the performance of numerous wireless sites.
In 2001, Steve began TeleCAD Wireless Site Design, Inc., offering a multitude of engineering services to the Wireless Industry. His expertise in power circuits, load calculations, fault currents, voltage drops, soil resistivity measurements and ground design systems have afforded him the opportunity to provide services for such clients as Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, US Cellular, Crown Castle, Inc, American Tower Corporation, SBA, General Dynamics and numerous regional wireless carriers and tower developers. He has developed drawing standards at carrier requests, that have since been implemented nationwide to minimize errors. Steve also designed site specific grounding systems to minimize the effect of direct lightning strikes and ground potential rise events. He manages the daily engineering performances of TeleCAD Wireless, with a team of over 135 employees, including Professional Engineers (Civil and Electrical), Engineers in Training, Network Designers and Real Estate Specialists.
Steve has active Professional Engineering licenses in 38 states and is a member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He holds certificates in NCEES Model Law Engineer, Nortel and Motorola Switch and BTS Certification Level I & II, Lyncole Grounding, and AEMC Field Measurement of Soil Resistivity. He is proficient in AutoCAD, NEC Electrical Load Calculator, and Bussman Fault Current Calculator.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
